Spirit Mound

My girlfriend and I have gone here a few times in the evening. Although it is slightly harder to maneuver as it becomes darker, it is cool to be able to see the city lights from Sioux Falls, Vermillion, and Yankton from the top. It may not be the most exciting place in the world, but it is a neat place to check out.

We have not visited this since it was relocated in the Dome so it'sbeen quite a long time ago. It was nice at the time and I'm sure it just keeps getting more additions and gets better.

Carey's Bar

Carey's was around when I was in college back in the late 70's/early 80's. It's size has doubled since then, but wasn't hasn't changed is that Carey's remains a great place to have a drink. It's a place where you can strike up a conversation with someone around you. Strangers become friends here.
The service is good and the prices are cheap.
Carey's is a "come as you are" place.

Black Hills

This storied mountain range was named because of its dark, dense forest terrain.

We visited this region as a retired couple. We had a good time, but many of the attractions are geared to families with young children. The area is beautiful but not as show-stopping as, say, the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone. It reminded me more of the Smokey Mountains.
