Rio savegre Waterfall

Reviewed By ToroChingo - Playa Potrero, Costa Rica

Fantastic overall. The hike leads to 2 Waterfalls. The first section takes about 30-45mins to get the first awesome waterfall. There are not too many places that you can really trek a rustic trail. Mudd, rocks, roots, steep angles and washouts are all obstacles that make this hike increíble. We continued on for another 30mins or so to get to the next one. You can walk out and face the falls on a rock outcropping. Wind from the falling water rushing past you and mist soaking you in a minute or two. Birds provide the soundtrack to this adventure. Hard to believe there are Stoll hikes like this... especially free ones!

Parque National Los Quetzales

Reviewed By Karen D - Mumbai, India

One of the most beautiful and pristine places in Costa Rica! Perfect for birdwatching and not just the quetzales, there's plenty of eagles, hawks, woodpeckers and too many others to be named. There are plenty of viewpoints to take in the sunsets if you're driving, trails of all levels of difficulty and lots of homely Tico joints to fill up on casado and coffee. It gets extremely cold up here, 5 degrees at night and early morning is normal so pack warm. You can easily spend a few days here.

We went there with my gf and were the only ones so we had the whole place for us before our massage which was great.
Overall it was clean (although I had to ask to change my towel).
The massages were good (facials).
I think it is pricey though (basically same price as in the USA).

Batsu Gardens

In the Batsú Gardens every detail has been intentionally designed for birding and bird photography. We have created a natural space that combines all the necessary ingredients resulting in a site where you can comfortably observe and photograph birds while adding new species to your life list.

Reviewed By Ingrid C

Is regular for birding photography, there is not to much species, you could see Long-tailed Silky Flycatcher, magnificent Hummningbird, Lesser Violetear, Scintillant Hummingbird, Silver Throated Tanager, Acorn woodpecker, White throated Mountain-gem, Purple Throated Mountain-gem..
I was dissapointed with the owner due to they was not in the place and they didn´t care the place and its feeders although they knew that we were going to the garden..

Canopy Tour at Hotel Trogon Lodge

Reviewed By horsey10 - New Mexico

I've travelled to many places, but this canopy tour is a 5-star experience not to be missed. Gliding through the forest, 100 feet over the Savegre River is amazing. We had the unusual coincidence of being followed by a male resplendent quetzal, trailing his Emerald breeding feathers. I will never forget the experience of seeing nature from the treetops. This is truly something I could never duplicate as long as I live!

Lauraceas Garden

Reviewed By Berrie Z - Berkel-Enschot, The Netherlands
