Wolf House

My wife loves old houses. This is supposed to be the oldest house in the state. So we went to visit the Wolf House on a recent vacation. This house is located in a very pretty and nice little community called Norfork. It is located near a river which made it a very useful dwelling/courthouse/etc during it`s time. Mr. Wolf and his family built and lived in this place for many years and played an important role in Arkansas history. If you are interested in old houses or Arkansas history or beautiful river scenery this is a very nice area to visit

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Lots of little stores to explore and find wonderful treasures. Large cedar rocking chair in which to take a photo. The restaurant (Printing Press Cafe) has really good sandwich and salad lunch for less than $10.

Jordan Marina

Jordan Marina is a full-service marina offering boat rentals and slips, water toys, food and more! They have everything you need for a great day on the water. Located in the Jordan Campground on Norfork Lake, Jordan Marina is just minutes away from Sand Island, a natural sand beach on Lake Norfork where you can beach your boat and hang out with your family and friends. The campground has 33 sites with water and electric. Boat launching is free. Clean restrooms at the marina are available during open hours. Jordan Marina rents pontoons and deck boats. They even have pontoons with an upper deck and a slide!

By mere chance during a recent trip to the Ozarks in NW Arkansas we happened to find Jordan Marina in the Jordan Recreation Area on beautiful Lake Norfolk. Jordan Marina rents deck boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, diving equipment, cabins, and campsites. The fishing in the area is amazing, likely due to its close proximity to the Lake Norris National Fish Hatchery which is the largest federal trout production facility in the U.S. If you are in to fishing, Lake Norfolk is known for world class striper fishing. The deep clear lake water is also home to a number of species of bass, sunfish, crappie, walleye, etc.

We enjoyed our visit to the Hatchery and the trail along Dry Run Creek. There are many other attractions in fairly close proximity such as Blanchard Caverns, Ozark Folk Center State Park, and the Buffalo National River. Devin Rodgers, Jordan Marina Manager is well versed in the places of interest to visitors and went out of his way to assist us with arrangements for visits to other places in the area.

Jordan Marina's facilities and equipment seemed to be immaculately maintained. With all the fishing and water sport opportunities plus the Jordan Recreation Area there is truly something for everyone in the entire family no matter what their age.

I give this a 4 because of the number of boats there are available to rent...houseboats, pontoons, fishing boats... and it's easy to get to, but be aware they are a bit run down.I'm not sure if you are writing about Quarry Marina. We do not rent houseboats and all of our pontoon rentals are less than 3 years old. We hope to see you again in 2017!
