Puckle Street Precinct

Reviewed By Victorianlad - Melbourne, Australia

This inner suburban shopping strip is patronised by residents of some of Melbourne's less well known affluent suburbs including Kensington, Ascot Vale and Essendon residents.
It has a good range of cafes and some fashion outlets plus the usual supermarkets and services such as banks.
It is easy to get to as Moonee Ponds railway station is on Metro Trains' Craigieburn line. There is also the number 59 (Yarra) tram and numerous suburban bus routes.

You never know what to expect when you do a cooking class but I highly recommend the Vegetarian & Vegan Cooking Class at Gourmet Kitchen Cooking School.
Laura made making delicious vegetarian and vegan food easy and fun.
No complicated ingredients or hours of preparation, the class was interactive and fun and I walked away with so many new ideas for vegetarian meals.
Thanks Laura for such a fun and enjoyable class and thanks to Alex for washing all the dishes!!
Hope to come back soon and do another course.

Moonee Ponds Central

At Moonee Ponds Central, we pride ourselves on our friendly Customer Service Team who want to make your visit to Moonee Ponds Central as comfortable and easy as possible. The Centre Management Team, Cleaning Staff, and Security are here to help make your shopping experience easy and enjoyable.

Moonee Ponds Central is local to me and I often frequent the centre due to K-Mart which is open late making it very handy. If you are new to town it is worth checking out K-Mart. Also just outside K-Mart there is a kids activity playground which is fantastic. My kids (ages 3 a 2) love it and I often visit the centre on a cold and rainy day so the kids can have a play and I can do some shopping.
The shopping centre has Aldi, Coles, Deli and Fruit and Vegetable shops for my at home necessities. There are some great speciality independent stores where you can pickup something different.
Also there is access to the famous Puckle Street Prescient which gives you plenty of shops and is a short walk to Queens Park if you want to sit and relax in a picturesque park.
I do find the layout of the shopping centre like a maze with its 3 different buildings though this makes it a adventure in itself. There is lots of development going on at the moment so traffic during the day isn't fun.
It is a shopping centre worth coming to and spending the day around the area. There is lots of onsite parking in lots of different sections (do research where you want to park beforehand). Another recommendation would be to come by train and get off at Moonee Ponds station or travel by the 59 tram.
