Carr Valley Cheese

We try to stop at Carr Valley Cheese in Fennimore every time we visit my Grandma in Lancaster -- the shop is tiny, but they have SO many cheeses, including several sliced and ready for you to sample! They literally have every kind of cheese you know, and so many others you've likely never heard of. The shop also has goat cheeses, cheese spreads, local wine, and a great selection of Packer cheese hats. You can't miss the giant mouse as you're driving past -- make sure to take a photo with Igor before you leave!

We have used WI River Outings for 3 different trips on the WI River and they have been an excellent partner and resource every time. We canoe this river in a large family group with kids from preschool to college age and everyone loves the experience. Highly recommend both the outfitter and the canoe trips on this river.

For $3, one can view hundreds of dolls and toys from the 19-20th century. The small museum just a block off the main street area is packed but well organized according to decades and kinds of dolls and even colors of Barbie costumes. Several dolls are also for sale at reasonable prices.

Located a few miles off Highway 18 up on a lovely hillside, sample for free many different sweet grape and berry wines as well as dry ones, then buy a glass or bottle and enjoy the wine on the lovely deck. As a dry red wine drinker, I did not care for the dry varieties, but thought the sweet ones were full of flavor and fun for a summer like fall afternoon.

Lions Park

Reviewed By minneapol - Grey Eagle, Minnesota

This is the kind of park that everyone would love to grow up playing at it. It is a small town park with a large playground, picnic areas and baseball diamonds. There is a lovely tarred path to walk around the park to see many lovely well cared for flower gardens. A local gave us a story about the statue of the man who donated the land to the city many many years ago. We silently thanked him for our lovely afternoon in his park.
