I was on my own and a bit nervous that everything would work out. I drove 600km to get to the track, the last thing I needed was trouble with the rental. But Jaco arrived with his orange track tool and ensured I would get on the track. I had decided on the Porsche Cayman S. Short intro before getting strapped in with a last tyre pressure check and off I was. The car seemed well prepared for the track with adequate racing seat, 5 Point harness and roll-cage. Testing the track and car didn‘t take too long, even though it was cold and damp. The Michelin Pilot Sport tyres were up to operating temperature quite fast despite the conditions. The brakes had a good feel and never really faded, despite the track layout causing me to punish them quite a bit, e.g. from over 200km/h down to second gear for a hairpin. The car seemed up to the task enabling me to concentrate on the track and my limits. After each session Jaco checked tyre pressure and even downloaded the data from the VBox to give me some pointers. Jaco was by my side all day, I think we got along well, making the experience even better. He pointed out crucial parts of the contract to avoid future disagreements beforehand, such as costs incurred when you over-rev the engine or drive more laps than intended. In the end he even gave me more laps than signed for... I was surprised at how much fuel I used though, so make sure you have cash or card ready to fill up the car if you have booked it for the day. I chose Jaco from all the rental places, because the offer seemed good value for money and the booking on the Internet site was easy. All communication with Jaco, including changing the booking on short notice was easy and uncomplicated. I left the track with a grin and some adrenalin and can only recommend the experience. One of the world’s, if not the world’s, largest collection of classic racing motorcycles in the world. Including several world championship winning bikes, unique pieces and interesting racing cars. Located in a private (ware)house close to the Nürburgring. Easily overlooked, but definitely worth a visit. The owner is a very successful motorcycle racing champion himself and has amazing stories to tell about almost all the pieces in his collection. He happily gave a private tour!
