I don’t have a favorite part of the experience the whole experience is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed ourselves very much the only thing we regret was not booking the 2 hour tour. I highly recommend snowmobiling to everyone. This is our new winter getaway. Our tour guide was very nice also. Can’t wait till next year to book our tour again!

We took the ride up the mountain on the chair lift to check out the fall colors. The wait time was acceptable being a Saturday, around 40 to 45 minutes. The ticket price was reasonable and the leaf colors were at peak.

Cascade is a rather rustic x country ski center, which is its appeal. Some people have complained about the grooming. I appreciate the fact that not everything is always groomed. There is a nice variety of trails and the feeling is that you are just skiing through the woods not really at a ski area. Though if you attempt to just ski through the woods you'll quickly see the difference. The Jack Rabbit trail passes through Cascade which is a back country ski trail that goes from Keene to Saranac Lake. There is also a connection to the Mt Van Hoevenberg trail system (additional fee). I am a season ticket holder and have really enjoyed skiing here. While you could skate ski, it is better suited to classic x country. I am also a season ticket holder at Mt. Van Hoevenberg which is a large facility with mostly wide very well groomed trails compared to the narrower, trails at Cascade with a more country feel. Both areas a great, but different.

Reading the other reviews, I have a different take on the separate building, The Birches. My husband uses a walker and often quaint and charming lodges and Inns have too many barriers for us. The Birches room allowed us to enjoy this beautiful place and have a safe accessible room. The Inn is lovely and very "lodgy", but still able to be accessed with a walker. The staff was top notch. Friendly and professional. The food was delicious. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, a great dinner each evening. The beach was just what one would hope for in the Adirondacks. Crisp air, clear water and of course Adirondack chairs. We will be back.
