The area around Plav and Gusinje is famous for the stone houses and towers. They differ in structure and form from the wooden houses. They were built from the 16th to the beginning of the 20th century and they are constructed with hardly any openings and purpose built as defense.   The Redzepagic Tower is the oldest and most interesting housing-defence facility in the city of Plav. It was built in 1671 by Hasan-beg Redzepagic. The tower has three floors connected by wooden indoor stairs. Two floors are made of stone and the third one of wood. On each side of the building, on the second floor, there are covered wooden balconies. The ground floor was used for horses and as a warehouse, and on the first floor there were rooms intended for sitting, sleeping and eating. Loopholes are made in the walls over one metre thick. The tower is now hosting the local ethnographic collection. A Young man who speaks English shows all the rooms to the visitors. He explains the history of the tower and its use by the residents.
