Good hotel, needs a facelift and better lighting

Reviewed By Sherpa628434

The Lodge at Jackson Hole has a great location near (but not in) the main downtown area with all the tourist shops. Although the hotel could use a facelift, the rooms were not bad. The staff were friendly and helpful - even the very overworked bartender/server and breakfast staff. Their service was great. The front desk staff were great too. Our biggest complaint is the lack of decent lighting in the rooms.

Dog charge-we don’t have a dog

Reviewed By NaColeBeall

“Room was covered in hair and smelt awful of wet dog” We don’t have a dog. We let a friends sister sleep on our pull out-she has a small breed dog. She went to the office to obtain a blanket for the pull out with her dog. They told her the dog couldn’t enter the cabin, several times. Then he followed up with a call to me at the cabin before she could even return to threaten me with a $500 fine if the dog enters the cabin. We agreed. He then asked if the dog had been in the cabin-we informed him it hadn’t (I had never even seen the dog the whole night) We told them no problem-she had a kennel in her car anyway for him. It wasn’t a problem. I hardly know the girl and she was grateful for the space to avoid driving home after a hard days ride. No reason to even have the dog in the cabin. The dog never came in. They charged our card $500 anyway If not refunded we will just dispute it or submit it to a small claims court. We may consider a different location for our event in the future. They where very aggressive on how they threatened us with the dog-after we had agreed several times. I find their dishonesty to be a lack of integrity. It’s also quite insulting to refer to our aftermath as being “as smelly as a wet dog”. They aggressively made their list clear, it was a problem and we had no issue with refusing an acquaintances dog, nor did she make an attempt after experiencing the office gentleman’s aggressive nature. Unfortunate judgement

Everything I would want in a resort

Reviewed By ConfederateMike

This was the perfect place to stay after a long day of driving. The ski resort feel made for a relaxing experience. The room was clean and spacious. Check-in was smooth and the staff provided very useful info on activities in the area. I would definitely like to visit again during ski season and enjoy the entire area.

Yellowstone Valley Lodge, Ascend Hotel Collection

We're a small, off-the-beaten-path collection of contemporary cabins and one exceptional five-star gourmet restaurant, tucked along the banks of the Yellowstone River on a ranch style property in the Paradise Valley of Montana. Our passions: Falling asleep to the sound of the river (we've also got a weak spot for high-count linens, fly-fishing, and microbrews—you'll see.), anything locally grown (if Chef Marcos prepares it, it's good) and showing off Yellowstone National Park (and the Valley's other endless outdoor opportunities). With our local knowledge, upscale amenities, and taste for both fine food and outdoor adventure, we're a natural base for your Yellowstone-area experience.

Exceeded expectations!

Our cabin was beautiful. Very well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The River view from our large deck was amazing. The complimentary breakfast was top notch and dinner at the Yellowstone Grill was outstanding. The service was exceptional and everyone went out of their at to be helpful.

Issues with Night Shift Front Desk Person

Reviewed By 10KDD

We stayed at this property on June 1 and 2. By evening of June 1, I got about 10 text messages from Holiday Inn informing me about availability of Bikes for rent. I called front desk around 9:30 pm complaining about so many text messages I was getting. The person (her name was Hannah based on information provided by Day time front desk person) told me to talk to their IT person. When I tried to discuss this issue further she hung up on me. When tried to call front desk again no one answered the phone after it rang so many times. So I called the front desk again after about 15 minutes and I was immediately put on HOLD for long time. I think this was very rude on the part of the front desk person. I have been IHG member for many years and stayed at many IHG hotels in US and abroad but this is the first such experience i had. Other than this issue, the room and amenities were nice.

Lone Mountain Ranch

Lone Mountain Ranch (LMR), situated on 148 acres in beautiful Big Sky, Montana, was first homesteaded in 1915 and has long been recognized as one of the premier guest ranch resorts in the country. Listed on the National Registry of the Historic Places, a member of the Dude Rancher's Association, an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge, a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World, and once voted the #1 Nordic ski area in North America, LMR offers authentic accommodations, genuine Montana cuisine, exceptional service, and a stunning array of outdoor activities. Combine these attributes with close proximity to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky Resort, as well as Bozeman Airport, and we believe the LMR guest experience is unlike any other in the American West.

Big Sky. Big Fun.

Our time at Lone Mountain Ranch was fabulous! We fed carrots to the horses as soon as we arrived, which was so great! The vibe by the stables was so lovely; fire pits going, people wandering around with drinks, petting horses… We decided we needed some pre-dinner drinks ourselves, so we stopped by the bar, where we were greeted by Brien! He was super friendly and made us feel welcome while he made our delicious cocktails. After finishing our cocktails, we headed up to dinner. Chris greeted us warmly and took us to our table, where we met Joel, who is maybe the friendliest waiter I’ve ever had! I could instantly tell he was passionate about his job and the food he was serving! He gave us great recommendations on food and wine! My group is still talking about the wonderful time we had at Lone Mountain Ranch and all the great people we met while there!

It was an average stay for a 6 star price.

The Montage is off the beaten path, which we expected, but we did not expect the Hotel to have a significant portion of its advertised onsite offerings closed: 1: Outdoor Pool Closed 2: Outdoor Skating Rink Closed 3: Bowling Alley and Restaurant Closed for 6 of the 7 nights 4: Upscale Onsite Restaurant Booked for the week (In Fairness, we were squeezed in for two nights) 5: Cadillac Service Booked for 6 of the 7 nights. The hotel is beautiful, but they are not ready for guests at the price they are charging. They were obviously aware because they comped one of our rooms. I would have rather paid the full price and received the experience we were expecting. In all fairness, I would try it again but call ahead of time and make sure everything was open and not rely on their website.
