I took my grandkids ages 10 and 11, here again. They loved it. The staff took their time and introduced them to the horses they were going to ride. They told the kids the horses names and a little about each one. After the kids were on the horses, they talked a bit with them and made them really comfortable. Our guide, Coley, was very good. She kept an eye on the kids as they rode and talked to them. I highly recommend this ranch to anyone wanting to ride horses and be treated very nice. We will be going there again. The horses seemed very well taken care of and were very easy to ride.

I played here twice during a recent family reunion trip to Deep Creek. The course was in pretty good shape considering they had 5 inches of rain a few days before. The course was beautiful. It's built on top of the hill that provides the skiing for the Wisp resort but surprisingly the course is not all that hilly. The biggest elevation changes are going from greens to tees. (It is definitely not a walking course.) The greens are huge so get the speed down early or you could have a very high score. You almost need to play it twice to understand where to hit some of your drives and even your approaches. While the fairways are reasonably wide you do need to maintain direction. Stray just a little off the fairway and you are in British Open fescue type rough. I shaved 8 strokes off my score from my first to my second round. It's a fun course and not like most you'll play. Take a camera as some of the holes are pretty special.

I really enjoyed horseback riding and riding the ATVs with my boyfriend. It was easy to find and the experience is like no other. Going through the mountains highs and lows made it great to see the scenery. We enjoyed being the last people there because we got to ride around while Lane closed the gates for the evening. I would highly recommend anyone to go if they are out in or near Oakland!
