Good location, good food bad cabana rooms

Reviewed By rmbautista

Good - staffs very friendly -food is pretty good and decent amount of serving -location beachfront is good Bad-Cabana rooms We booked all 3 Of them due to urgency and we couldn’t wait to get out the next day. -cabana rooms is overpriced for such a kind of accomodation 3500php. not even complimentary bottled water - door in one cabana can’t even be locked so slept all Night with door open. When complained the next morning, only to be told you need to lift the door to lock. That’s the most disgusting reason I have ever heard. They should have repaired it immediately when have problem. The 1st cabana smells of toilet sewage because the other property toilet is just beside it. Then the other cabana is beside another common toilet which smells the same. The Japanese owner who was there the whole time should have at least checked on the condition of his resort. Pretty disappointing. To the management. Hope you get rid of those cabanas or at least make them better for customer comfort, not just for profit.

Serenity, Great place to relax?

Reviewed By Victoria1024

This place is amazing. So green, lots of trees and they have a nice garden. If you are a nature lover and looking for a quite place to relax HidAway is the place to be. The owner are very accommodating and happily assisted us with all our request / needs. They have plenty of room to suit your needs, couple, family or big group. Pundaquit is just 4 mins away by bike/ car and 10 mins by walk. They have a big place that can also accommodate parties / events. Highly recommended!!!!

Cabo De Roca Villas

Nothing special

Reviewed By Isaiah B

We stayed in the Lagos room , ample size for a family of 5. Unfortunately the water coming out of the pipes wreaks of rust and 3 day old busted eggs which we told the reception, but did nothing. Simple things like extra towels - never came. The pool needs maintenance and needs deep cleaning. Blurry water and the walls/floor are slimy. The beach, although public, needs cleaning. A lot of trash. Sand is coarse, water/beach is also not advisable for swimming, especially children. Service is poor, they need more people! No one attends while you dine or when you’re by the pool. The dining hall, needs wall fans installed. It’s not always breezy. Food is ok, nothing mind blowing. FYI they count children in the room and even if you have Pwd or senior companions they only gave us 20% discount- make sure they compute the discount and VAT properly. Things going for this place are: the air conditioning, seclusion, and quiet surrounding. Are we coming back? No.

Receptionist is unprofessional and constantly scheming to extort money from guests

Reviewed By greg_wanders

Rooms had basic Amenities that you require for beach side accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Toothbrushes and a broom provided as well. Location less than. A minute walk to the beach. Huts by the beach to use for free and bbq area if you are a guest. That's where the good part ends. FirstThe receptionist ruined our stay. Constantly scheming to get money out of us without any justification. Shady and not straightforward in her dealings. Firstly we arrived on a Saturday and were a family of 6 with 2 rooms and asked if we could use the beach huts. She told us it would be 1000 for the day and 1500 for overnight. So we decided against it. The next day we found out its free for guests. Secondly we booked the first night with Agoda (a deluxe room) and the next 2 nights with Booking.com (Standard room). After the first night she told us its OK to stay in the same deluxe room and she will adjust it. We said we were willing to move to a standard room as that's what we paid for, but she said its OK. There was no mention of cost or payment which is why we thought she was offering a free upgrade. We thanked her and went on with our stay. On the last night, she tells my wife that we have to pay extra for the room (still she didn't mention any amount when asked). Then I went to check with her and she said my wife asked for the deluxe room and now we needed to pay the difference. This was not true as she was trying to pit us against each other rather than talk to us together. She then worked out that we have to pay 1800 pesos more for the room. When we pressed her on the issue and asked her to call the manager, she started lying to him as well. Eventually I spoke to him and explained everything. He understood that it was unreasonable to ask a gust to pay at the end of the stay when there was nothing agreed upon. Eventually when we checked out the following morning, she did not speak to us. I just feel it is extremely unprofessional to extort money from people in this manner. This wasn't a misunderstanding, it was calculated which made it worse.
