Holiday Riding Stable

Holiday Riding Stables is a place that truly cares for their horses. Fidel, the owner knows his horses very well and shares each horse’s personality with you so that you will enjoy riding your horse. We rode on Only One and Morgan. Only One is a large female horse and the only light grey one in the stable, hence her name. We rode on the beach with our guide Vibert, who was very friendly and helpful. Vibert then removed the saddles and we rode bare back into the sea which is beyond description. It certainly far exceeded my expectations. Vibert took some fantastic photos of us on Only One and Morgan – memories that are priceless!! Would we recommend going to Holiday Riding Stables for some horseback riding? YES, especially, for its friendly staff and outstanding horses!!! We would gladly return!

This was the first time in St. Lucia for my husband and I. We stayed at the Marigot Bay Resort and Marina. Before our stay we got an email with different activities we could book at and around the resort. One of the activities we decided for was the horseback riding at Trims National Riding Stables. Let me tell you, this was without a doubt our favorite experience this trip! The stables have been family owned for a long time. As animal lovers it was important to us, that the horses were treated the right way and weren’t part of one of these tourist activities where the animals suffer. We are convinced that the horses at Trims National Riding Stables are part of the owners’ life and family. They own about 50 horses and have a name and story to every single horse. Also they told us they make sure that every single horse rotates in riding the tours, so they all get their exercise in. (For everyone who is planning on staying at the Marigot Bay Resort, the stables are about an hour away from the resort. Transportation is included in the package.) Once you get to the stables, you already get a beautiful view of the scenery. Cecilia welcomed us with a big smile and an even bigger heart. She provided us with helmets and walked us to our horses. Our horses were Snowflakes and Brown Boy. They were really well behaved and even my husband, who has never been on a horse before felt a hundred percent comfortable. Our guide for the tour was Kirley. He is only 19 years old but he knows what he’s doing. He’s one of the most kind hearted people we have met in St. Lucia. He made sure we felt comfortable at all times, told us stories about our horses, the stables and even picked a fruit out of a tree for us when we asked what it was and wanted to try it. We booked the 4-hour horseback riding tour with the barbecue. We highly recommend booking this tour, as the barbecue consist of a local meal and drinks at one of the beach bars we rode to. You get some authentic St. Lucian taste with a beautiful view. Also with the 4-hour ride you’ll have plenty of time to explore the beautiful beaches and scenery with your horse, including swimming with your horse in the ocean, whereas I feel like the 2 hour tour might just not give you enough time to enjoy everything the same way. We explored one of the most beautiful sceneries and views of St. Lucia on our horses that day. This is definitely an absolutely unique and incredible experience! Also if you are thinking about attending the local street party tour, I’d recommend to book it the same day as the 4-hour horseback riding tour, as the street party is only a few minutes drive away from the stables. We had the best time! Thank you for everything. We will definitely be back.
