Rutgers Gardens

Rutgers Gardens is a 180-acre botanic garden, consisting of designed gardens, plant collections, a student farm, farmers market, and natural habitats. As part of Rutgers University, Rutgers Gardens serves as a living laboratory for faculty and staff, while providing experiential and service learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. We have a vibrant volunteer program and host many special events and activities for families throughout the year.

Rutgers Gardens is one of my favorite places: beautiful, interesting flowers, hikes through the woods and through fields and inspiration for your own garden.

Skylands New Jersey Botanical Gardens

Reviewed By wanderlustnyc71 - New York, United States

I’m a nature lover. I follow the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in NY. I follow them on Instagram, which lead Instagram to suggest I follow NJBG. I’m so glad they did! Originally I wanted to get married in Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Waaaay to expensive. Once we visited the New Jersey Botanical Gardens - we fell in love!!!!! A dated manor (we love history too) on big beautiful grounds with one wedding at a time. Getting married 7/3/18

Van Vleck House & Gardens

Well-maintained, super clean and super-informative!. We loved the cell phone info stops along the pathways. A wonderful place to stroll post-Sunday brunch year round. These gardens depend on their members. We will be supporting this non-profit.

Brookdale Park

Reviewed By Yuting_13 - Nanuet, United States

This park does not have ducks and geese, so the grass is clean. Plus, many huge trees provide a lot shade. The rose garden is small but beautiful. Unleashed dogs are limited in a dogs park in the Brookdale park. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy sunny weekends with kids, this definitely is a perfect park. I personally recommend the grass near the rose garden.

J. A. McFaul Environmental Center

Reviewed By stephaniewT3796BW

I stopped by to check it out and was pleasantly surprised!! Though the weather was cold, I was able to watch the bird/geese activity through large picture windows in the observatory - it was awesome! There is a variety of turtles, snakes, little creatures in the observatory to see. Great place for small kids. I'm sure the grounds must be really nice in spring/summer weather. I did get to see a deer family wake up and start their day!!

Riverside County Park

I liked this Riverside County Park. There are shelters and big tables to eat. We can see the mountains. There are sports: Basketball and the best: Skating, the biggest in thatpark. For the little kids there are swings and a playground.
