Ever since Square Play Cafe opened earlier this year, I've been wanting to check it out with our kids. We finally had an opportunity this past weekend, and we weren't disappointed! The concept is simple, it's a coffee shop, and a play area. There is a fee for kids to play (as of October 2017, it was $4/kid, kids 12 months and under are free), and there's delicious coffee house style drinks and snacks for a reasonable price. I was there with my friend, and we were able to truly enjoy our time together because our kids (22 months, 3 years, nearly 6 years) were all happily playing for nearly 2 hours. Needless to say, the toys in the play area have been thoughtfully chosen to inspire imaginative play in kids...of a variety of ages. They have a small fenced off area for babies too. They occasionally offer classes as well...storytimes, music and motion classes, etc... There is usually no extra fee for these activities, just the regular fee for playtime. When we were there, they had a special Halloween themed music and motion class. The woman leading the class was great, she had a way of drawing the kids in and keeping them engaged. My only complaint is that they're sometimes closed on Saturdays. When my friend and I were making plans, I initially didn't even mention Square Play Cafe because I thought they were always closed on Saturdays for private birthday parties. I happened to see a Facebook post of theirs advertising the Halloween class and realized they'd be open on the particular Saturday my friend and I wanted to get together, YAY! Check their Facebook page for the most up to date information (if they'll be open on Saturday for a special event, what classes are offered, etc...)

One of kids’ favorite things to hear is, “You guys wanna hit Bambo?” It is ALWAYS a blast for all age groups. There’s kiddy stuff for the three-year-old, challenging games like laser tag for the nine-year-old, bowling for the teens, and a West Michigan brewed beerski for me! My older son and I get competitive on the basketball throws and guide the younger ones in their play. We all emerge from BAM completely sweaty, full of Bam bites (pizza bites with Parmesan and marinara dipping sauce), and AGLOW with another fun time at Bambo! Woohoo!!! PS The owners are supernice Saugatuck locals who ensure that the atmosphere is truly family friendly. The space is sectioned off appropriately so that even if you’re with kids and it gets late, the arcade, nice bathrooms, and an exit are located separately from the bar and bowling areas.Cool, huh?

My husband and I took my 11 year old son and his friend here a couple of weeks ago, and we had the most amazing experience here. The owner was so kind to our boys. When they came out of a laser game their faces were flushed & he gave them bottled water. The employees made sure that they were taken care of and got enough time in the laser game. They let my husband and I play mini golf while we waited, air hockey and some fun arcade games ourselves. (We are very competitive ourselves, so we had a blast competing with each other). When our boys were cashing out their tickets for prizes, the girl behind the counter made their day with a special prizes for them even when they had a lower amount of tickets. We haven’t been able to afford to do anything special with my son for a long time, and The Lost City made it the most special experience we could have asked for. Thank you to everyone there! You staff is wonderful! We highly recommend this place. Kind owners, great employees, fun place for parents and kids, and very reasonable prices! Please go there and support our local businesses!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ -Elizabeth
