Incredibly beautiful beach, with soft sand, great waves and beautiful clear blue water. Plenty of room, very uncrowned even on State holiday.

Kaiona Beach Park

Reviewed By MikeH305 - Phoenix, United States

This park has parking but if you don't know it is here you will drive right past. The beach is not crowded. Locals were here when we came and they said it is normally quiet like when we were there. The reason I stopped is because the set for Magnum PI is just up the road so I was able to see the breakwater that was used many times on the set. Nice sandy beach and greenish blue water with Rabbit Island out across the sea.

Sherwood Beach

Reviewed By JayJolleyTA - Omaha, United States

This is our fourth trip to Oahu and we always go to this beach for boogie boarding. The weather can be more of a challenge than Waikiki, i.e. windier, cooler, and more cloudy, but we wouldn’t go if all we wanted were to lie out in the sun. The parking lot has never been full and it is a 50 yard walk from there to the beach. There is a restroom facility with showers to rinse off salt and sand and room to change.

Makapu’u Point Tide Pools

Reviewed By erinschmiedt

Check tide levels before trekking down there because the rogue waves and surges will sweep visitors back out into the open ocean (and there have been deaths from it re: 2016 and 2011 father and daughter incidents). If you see wave turbulence at all going into the tide pools then stay out and away from them. Also, be aware there is some scrambling involved getting down and up from them. This is an intermediate hike. With all the rain, it may be a bit precarious especially when muddy. Also, wear water shoes because getting in and out of the pools there are a ton of sea urchins. Otherwise, it’s a must-see and experience spot.

Frankie's Nursery

Reviewed By zachsGreenbean - Montrose, United States

My friend recommended Frankies to find tropical fruit so we drove 45 minutes to the location. They had quite a good selection of in season fruit to choose from the highlight being the honey cream pineapple. We also got A ton of other fruit. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of their products.
