7 Farms in Ubud That You Shouldn't Miss

April 10, 2022 Lean Nau

The village cluster of Ubud is the ideal place to try a famed Balinese massage and soak up the ambiance of one of Asia’s top spa destinations. Acupressure, reflexology, stretching and aromatherapy star in the island's distinctively firm massage treatments. Ubud is also the vivacious center of Bali’s arts scene, home to a small treasure trove of museums and galleries. Monkey around at nearby nature reserve Monkey Forest Park, home to hundreds of mischievous long-tailed macaques. Don’t miss the valley of tomb cloisters at Gunung Kawi.

We stopped by here on our drivers recommendation to try the famous Luwak Coffee. We saw a couple other plantations during the week and this one was our favourite. Great selection of coffees and also fresh fruit available from a separate seller on site. Nice setting and the guy who took us through the small plantation was very friendly and informative explaining the process and coffee and tea fusions.

We kept admiring the view from the hotel we stayed at and managed to find a way down some cobbled steps to follow this trail, its so peaceful and picturesque and you can actually walk into the centre from here, lots of opportunities to take some beautiful photos and meet the locals, always a plus when you can stop and listen to their stories. A lovely stream to follow although the paths can be very narrow at times lots of ducks and other species around, just a lovely leisurely stroll with the camera and if you forget your water there is always Nayoman the coconut man and his wife to stop and have a drink and a chat wonderful man......Wonderful couple..... thoroughly enjoyed our stroll

I'm so grateful for having the opportunity to visit Genta Agrotourism first on my own to experience the Balinese water purification ceremony with Desak (she is AMAZING) as well as a healing session, and then to return as co-host of a wellness retreat in Bali last week. 10 of our 12 guests requested the experience and each person had a unique, memorable and meaningful experience at this very special and authentic place. In addition to discovering coffees, teas and special oils and creams (made from unique flowers, all natural everything and grown here on location), guests loved meeting Desak and experiencing a purification ceremony as a group with her (after a brief and powerful healing session for each person). This is not a very touristic place despite the word tourism in the place's name :) and really this is unique and beautiful and a place I would recommend to everyone. Thank you Desak and thank you Helena (owner of this family run business for many years). If you're considering visiting, I can't recommend it enough. :)

We were greeted by Wayan at the entrance to Teba Sari Bali Agrotoutism. Mr Personality is an understatement! A large smile that engulfs everyone around him. Informative, the joker, but always the host embracing his passion, that you are his guest. The tour included a run down of all the herbs and spices grown, an explanation of how Luwak coffee is made, along with a demonstration of the roasting process. Then a sit down with samples of the different teas and coffees produced. The tour ends with a visit to the shop, where one can purchase any of the products. Well worth a visit!
