Lewis Farms

Strawberry and asparagus farm, packhouse and shop selling our own grown produce, as well as other hand-selected quality seasonal produce, real fruit ice cream, coffee, and other locally produced goodies. Come and enjoy an authentic packhouse experience. Dogs and kiddos are welcome!

We call in every time we are passing to buy asparagus and strawberries during the season. The produce is freshly picked and the best quality. You can pick up seconds grade here too which is great for jams and soups. Up a long gravel driveway you will find the shop which sells coffee and ice creams and other locally made items such as olive oil, jams, crackers etc.

Nevalea Alpacas

Nevalea Alpacas, the largest alpaca farm in New Zealand, is home to over 950 friendly alpacas. We offer visitors ‘The Ultimate Alpaca Experience’ and have a range of different activities to choose from to give visitors an opportunity to get up close to the alpacas, hand feed them and feel just how soft and cuddly the alpacas are. We operate alpaca treks through the summer months, where visitors can walk an alpaca around the farm and see hundreds of alpaca come to greet them in the hills, spectacular views surrounded by alpacas. We also offer a shorter alpaca walk throughout the year as another option. We have baby alpacas all year-round, and for a unique opportunity offer visitors the chance to have a cuddle with a baby alpaca. Great up close and personal experiences and chances for some amazing photos. See our website for all activity options and bookings.

Amazing experience, we've been to a few alpaca farms but this is definitely the best! A walk with 2 young alpacas to visit and feed some of the adult ones (there are so many!), then we got to have a cuddle with a baby, before ending with a picnic in one of the paddocks with a couple of mothers and babies. Totally awesome visit.

Te Apiti Wind Farm

Reviewed By NatMWil

We were driving home to Auckland from Woodville via the Saddle Road and we all really enjoyed seeing the many windmills. We stopped at a lookout point on the hill for a closer look - they're huge! It was massively windy and so impressive to hear them and see them.
