Ruma National Park

A stunning, tranquil campsite with a beautiful view to take in the African sunrises and sunsets. The park was easy to get to from Homa Bay. Inside the park, the roads were variable but efforts were being made to upgrade the surfaces. Wildlife was stunning - we saw 5 rhinos together, giraffe, beautiful birds, topi and zebra, amongst others, as well as the elusive Roan Antelope. We got to enjoy this beautiful park all by ourselves, with virtually no other visitors for the 4 days and 3 nights we were there. It is also the only KWS park we have visited with a guide book, although not all the roads are accurately marked on the map. An absolute bargain on current KWS rates.

Kisumu museum is such a cool place with rich history on Luo tribe culture. Its definitely "a must see" place when visiting the lakeside region. The place is a little bit deserted though. The team there need to do more marketing for this place to popularise it .
