Local Cowboy Cycle Tours

Come join us for an active bicycle tour around the Livingstone area, a chance to journey along the picturesque Zambezi river, visit local villages and markets, and interact with locals. We stop along the way to discuss the local cultures and landscapes. These tours directly support a community school school and we finish the tour by visiting this school and meeting some of the children.

We booked a number of tours with Owens Taxis & Tours. We came across his website and sent an enquiry via email. We received prompt responses from Moses. We booked transfers to and from Livingstone Airport, Full day trip to Chobe, Tour of Vic falls both Zambia & Zimbabwe side as well as a sunset cruise on the Zambezi (African Queen – operated by another company). The transfers were efficient and on time. Owen was waiting for us on arrival. He gave us a brief overview of what we would be doing over the next few days. The day trip to Chobe was fantastic. The animals, birds and general atmosphere of Chobe was amazing. The day trip was run efficiently. Winston who drove us on all the days in Livingstone took us to the border where Tawani (Owen’s associate) was waiting to help us through the formalities. The river safari was a highlight. Sinka our guide did a fantastic job. The game drive was also good but it did feel a bit rushed. PK the guide also did a great job. Lunch was at the Mowana lodge which was of a good standard. Overall the day at Chobe was a memorable one. The full day Vic falls tours from Zambia and Zimbabwe were also run quite smoothly. We did visit the falls in July which wasn’t an ideal time as the water levels were low. Nonetheless, both tours were efficiently run by Owen on the Zambia side and his associates on the Zimbabwe side. The sunset River cruise on the Zambezi was relaxing. It had a few nibbles and unlimited drinks. We had a good time. Owen also recommended we visit a restaurant called Zest. The food there was amazing. The kudu fry was delicious. Overall, we recommend booking all your activities with Owens Taxis & Tours. They will do their best to work out an itinerary for you so that you get the most out of your time in Livingstone. Both Owen and Winston did all that they could to ensure that we had a great time in Livingstone. Thanks Owen & Winston. Hint – We had the KAZA Univisa which was great to use for both Botswana & Zimbabwe. But ensure that your passports are stamped BOTH on entry and on exit.

Livingstone Museum

This popular museum contains Zambia’s oldest collection of fascinating samples from the area’s prehistory, as well as photographs, musical instruments and memorabilia belonging to Livingstone, the first white man to view Victoria Falls.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum a most enjoyable morning. The Museum follows the start of African culture right up to the present day with good and well-presented exhibitions. One room is entirely devoted to Dr David Livingstone and was very interesting as he discovered and named Victoria Falls after Queen Victoria and the town and the museum was named after him. Great museum with friendly staff recommend a visit if you're in Livingstone
