Lovely shop which smelled divine and very relaxing. We arrived two weeks after they had harvested but it was still a beautiful farm. Lots of variety in the shop which is all local and the price range will suit all budgets. The lavender gelato was incredibly creamy

Mon Repos Turtle Centre

Reviewed By TheTennetts - Brisbane, Australia

Having a great sense of anticipation we started getting concerned that nature wasn’t going to be kind for our evening to view the hatchlings. Eventually just before 10 pm after a 3 hour wait our group was called but alas - no hatchlings, we’d be taken to a dig to see what remained after hatchlings had departed. Fortunately just as we got to the dig site there was a ripple of excitement amongst the rangers and volunteers and there was a turtle sighted exiting the water to nest. This was a month after the last nesting and very late in the season. We had an unexpectedly exciting viewing seeing the turtle dig the nest, lay eggs, laboriously cover the eggs and head back out to sea. Now we’ll have to make sure we return for another attempt to view the hatchlings. Thank you Mother Nature!

The Basin

The Basin is a safe and secure swimming zone located at the Northern end of Kelly's Beach by Christensen Park. Its a family friendly sheltered swimming area which was built out of local volcanic rock by Kanaka labour many years ago. Its easy to find fish in the basin as well after higher tide.

Great safe swimming spot, with a sandy beach and protected from the waves by a rock enclosure. Depth increases gradually and only to a metre or so, so safer than letting kids out in the open ocean with the waves. Multitudes of fish live in the basin, and flock to you in the hope of some food, little kids will love it. (I presume feeding the fish isn't allowed). There is a small car-park, playground and BBQ facilities very close nearby.

Bargara Beach Caravan Park

Reviewed By caravanninglife - Dalby, Australia

We’re home from a beautiful, relaxing 10 days of sun, sand & family fun at Bargara☀️???????? This was our first time here & it’s safe to say we’ll definitely return. We actually thought we’d be bored after the first few days, oh how we were wrong! The beach & rock pools are stunning, so don’t forget the boogie/surf boards & snorkeling gear. Also, be sure to pack the bikes/scooters, the bike paths from the van park are some of the best we’ve ever ridden on, they go for klms along the beachfront. There is also a skate park across the road too. The van park itself is well catered for all ages (even dogs) & is situated beachfront with just short stroll or ride to the main part of town where the cafes & coffee shops are a plenty. Our fav was “The Beachmill Coffee Bar” that’s just opened up straight across the road on the beachfront under the Surfclub (it wasn’t opened)????????‍♀️ Also, only a short drive to the local shopping centre that has a ALDI & Woolworths for your supplies. A courtesy bus from the van park to the local Tavern & clubs, which can come in very handy???????????? The beachfront cabins & slab sites are extremely popular & have lovely ocean views???????? the sites are roomy with plenty of shady trees to sit under at happy hour of course ???????? The amenities are older, but were absolutely spotless every time we went to them. There is a great playground for the younger kids also. Let’s not forget the super friendly & extremely helpful staff. Kel “aka Lady Luck” (we called her) shuffled things around to help in extending our stay. Thanks Kel!! So, all in all we had a fabulous stay in beautiful Bargara & would highly recommend it to anyone that hasn’t been yet.
