Black Prince Winery & Canadian Cellars

The property features a restored century Barn suitable for special events, a Barrel House offering live demonstrations weekly and daily tastings of Local Barrel Aged Wine Vinegars, Fruit Vinegars & Reductions, Giant Oak Sherry Casks, a Make-Your-Own-Wine facility located in the cellar of the Tasting Centre and now Gourmet Wood Fired Pizza served outback amongst the vines. Recipient of the Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence, Black Prince has produced fine wines for over 15 years and are proud to be one of the oldest County wineries with a well-appointed Tasting Centre. The Estate vineyard includes Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and some hybrids. Black Prince was the first to use local County oak barrels to age their wines and vintage after vintage the wines receive awards nationally and internationally. Visit this summer to learn more about the lost craft of wine barrel-making and witness live demonstrations at the Cooperage on selected weekends.

Curtis was awesome!!! Great wine and great vinegar. We went when it wasn't too busy, and bought a couple bottles. Worth the trip!

Amazing wines, Fabulous and knowledgeable staff and a family atmosphere! A Prince Edward County must!! The winery is set up in an amazing area, overlooking the sprawling vines. There is plenty of outdoor space to sip your wine, have a wood fired pizza and listen to live music. The staff is caring, very friendly and knowledgeable of the wine craft! A must stop in PEC!!

Visited Long Dog to sample their Pinot Noir - was not disappointed. The friendly owner helped us make our selection of two great wines. Originally visited in 2005 and will be back sooner next time. Well worth the visit to this quaint tasting room.
