Great place to stay

Reviewed By Susan L

We were traveling on a three and one-half week road trip so wanted to stay in the Adirondacks for a couple of nights, avoiding Lake Placid. We chose Shaheen's early on in our planning and were so impressed with the Inn. Everything was well-maintained and clean, and my husband and I were very comfortable for the 2 nights. Great decor for under $100/night. Limited hiking because of heavy rain one day, but both Robyn and Terry were hospitable and helpful with restaurants and stuff to see in the area. We would definitely return and can easily recommend.

I went here with a large group of friends and the hosts were very accommodating the entire time. The cabins are well furnished and very clean. The property is right across the street from the boat launch which makes accessing the lake extremely easy.

We have a very strong no smoking policy- if we smell smoke in room or any damage at check out, you will be charge a flat rate fee of $200, same goes for sneaking in any pets. We take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms and do not appreciate them being destroyed.

We called to advise we would be later than expected, arriving close to midnight. The gentleman who answered was extremely understanding, left the key for us and even turned on the heat so the room would be warm when we arrived! We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the room was. Will definitely be back whenever in the area.

The only place to stay in the Adirondacks

Reviewed By schwertl

We have been here three times now, and every time it was fabulous. The rooms are very spacious and have kitchenettes so you can prepare your own meals. Last time we even got a unit with an extra bedroom that we did not need because that was what was available. The beds are comfortable, the owners very friendly, we had a table to seat four comfortably, a sofa, and views of the lake. You can sit on a bench or swing by the lake and even light a fire. A perfect space to relax and enjoy life. The only downside was that eventually we had to leave! The next night in a "regular" motel chain room with nothing bud beds in a crowded space for more money was a real downer.

PERFECT for what we wanted!! Ty!!

Came up for the Saranac Winter Festival and the rooms one town over were all $200+. We wanted a place that was safe, sound, comfortable and moderate to low cost. I've stayed in places all over that ADK and this one was one the best values! It had everything we were looking for! Is it the Taj Mahal? No. Is it all fancy and brand new? No. We weren't looking to pay for that, and were going be spending most of our time outside of the room anyway. It was though, very clean, maintained, and the mattress was very nice(we both commented on it lol). It wasn't drafty or smelly. The heat stayed stable even in the winter. The bathroom was huge and spacious. There was a table and chairs I used with my laptop for some off hours work. We used the microwave and fridge, as well as the storage space for our belongings. We didn't really watch the tv so I cannot comment on the channel selection and we had service ( Sprint and Straight Talk, Verizon for work phone) and didn't connect to their wifi. The staff was friendly and communications throughout the whole process were effective enough to not allow any misunderstandings. We were very pleased with the value of the room we purchased and wouldn't hesitate to book again. For reference we booked room "A".
