Reviewed By vaniq01The hotel is very neat, beautiful and has adapted its services to the current health crisis accordingly. The view over the lake is incredible, and little ducks swim close to us making the experience unique. Hotel owners and hosts are very nice and welcoming, they even gave us a brochure with suggested activities around the area. The room was cozy, comfortable and very nice. I had one with a view over the parking lot, but it wasn't a problem for us (I could check on my car). It had a large balcony with a table for two, which we appreciated a lot namely on the sunrise/sunset hours. I can only recommend and I would definitely go back there when I can.

Reviewed By ScubaDave16The hotel is in the town of Horw which is a suburb of Lucerne Check in was quick, staff was pleasant and gave us a thorough briefing of the hotel. They seemed serious about quiet times. The room was somewhat small (compared to US hotels), but looked clean and pleasant and had a good view from a small balcony. There really wasn’t much room for our 2 big suitcases to be laid out. The bath was relatively small, but very clean and well set up- very functional The AC worked well The lighting in the room was good and there were enough outlets to charge phones and ipads. The TV was reasonable sized, but only had a couple English channels. The restaurant was very good and dining outside was quite pleasant, but perhaps a bit pricey (it is Switzerland, though) The bed was comfortable, but instead of sheets and blankets it had those odd European half comforter things. The hotel was quiet and sleep quality was good. breakfast was excellent. lots of bread, cheese, yogurt, fruit, etc. There were hiking trails right across the street that were nice to walk around in the evening. overall It was a very nice place. I would recommend staying here.

Wonderful Welcome to Switzerland!
Reviewed By KkuberOur group of 6 travelers had the pleasure of staying at Gasthaus Schwendlberg during our 2 day stay in Lucerne. Don't let the windy road to get to the Gasthaus intimidate you...the views and accommodations are worth every twist and turn! We arrived at sunset our first night and were treated to the most breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne, surrounded by the majestic Alps. One of our favorite moments of our vacation! Inside the rooms were up to date and spacious. Our friends had a four person room, with a double bed and a set of bunk beds. They also had a lovely sitting area and million dollar views. My husband and I had a double room with a balcony that overlooked the terrace area of the hotel. While our friends had a private bathroom, our was shared but this posed no problems for us. Breakfast was amazing, with the croissants being the best we were offered all trip and ranking in some of our top 5 things we ate all vacation. Not having easy access to public transport, is a bit of a bummer- it's a 15 min drive to the nearest train station, and that's Horw- which does connect to Lucerne and several other cities, but you have you pay to park at the train station. A hotel shuttle to public transport would be a huge bonus. Apart from that, this Gasthaus' setting cannot be beat. The restaurant is amazing (reviewed separately) and the price is spot on for the area. I would highly recommend for groups, couples, and families.

Reviewed By ArshjitSPretty good room... clean quite equipped with modern equipment. I checked in around midnight... reception was closed I had to go thru bar... but staff was very nice and friendly.. overall good. I will stay again

Reviewed By Connector23794844844Direkt an Kantonsstrasse (laut) - keine Klima - schwache Schallisolation zwischen Zimmern & Gang. Balkon an Balkon, dadurch auch unangenehm wenn ein Raucher neben an wohnt. Ansonsten relativ neu & gut eingerichtet. Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Hotel (nicht nur von Vorteil, recht lärmig diese Busse)
