Very nice small hotel in rural area
Reviewed By avman67This hotel is a small family run hotel located in a very small town. I was visiting friends in the area but if you are a tourist this probably isn't the hotel for you. It is far from Copenhagen and there are almost no services in the area. As with most hotels in Denmark, the rooms are quite small but they are comfortable. There is a nice little courtyard in the middle of the property to relax in and you can feel safe having your windows open for some ventilation. There is no air conditioning so the rooms can get stuffy in the summer. The bathroom drain is outside of the shower itself so the bathroom easily gets a lot of water on the floor. The showers are very very small. Breakfast is served each morning. It is delicious with a variety of offerings. You may choose hot food or a selection of deli meats and cheeses with fresh bread. The breakfast area offers nice sunlight and the ability to chat with other guests of the hotel. I was out in the evenings so I did not get a chance to experience their dinner offering. Service was lovely at the front desk. I had wonderful conversations several times with the staff and enjoyed my visit very much. They were able to hold my room even though I was delayed a full day due to weather and flight problems. I do hope I can return someday and enjoy the hospitality of this hotel again.

Peace full and beautifully situated in Nordsjælland 45 min from Copenhagen. Totally restored in 2016 in timeless Scandinavian style. The rooms are all light and spacious. All including a lovely bathroom. Nearest restaurant is situated 500 meters away. Nearest golf course is 1,5 kilometers away.

Reviewed By skilli15We had a very enjoyable stay. On arrival, check in is at the lovely, thatched hotel, Gerlev Kro, at the corner of the road leading up to the accommodation. We were given a key code for the front door of Femhøj, and a key code for our room. Our room was lovely and bright and overlooked the large central courtyard. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spotless. The bathroom was a really good size. The area around is very peaceful. Tea, coffee and juice are available all the time, free of charge, in the breakfast room area. From there, there is access out on to the courtyard, where there is plenty of seating. Breakfast was good and replenished when required. We had our evening meal back down at Gerlev Kro, which was excellent. Great food. We would certainly stay here again.

Traditional danish food
Reviewed By 189541Cristina1983The average age of the people at the krog was 60-70 years old. The person at the reception was nice and the table settings were traditional. Menu was bilingual english danish and the food was served quite fast. They have a loppemarked where you can buy some garden decoration. The size of the dish was ok and the fries and plaite was tasty. The beef was average and apple crumble was fine. We did not order any alcoholic drinks and paid around 700dkk including dessert. The place is very cool to show to visits and eat some typical danish food.

Bird paradise in the countryside
Reviewed By kerttu2015Our room and bathroom were nice and newly renovated. Everything was new and clean! Place is amazing, it is in the middle of fields and next to a huge bird sanctuary. There is kitchen facilities available. Our host were really helpful and friendly!

Basic but good
Reviewed By Lwatson1970A no frills B&B style hotel with very basic rooms which are clean. Warm and comfortable beds and everything you need in the bathroom. No Tea and coffee facilities but the restaurant downstairs is very good for dinner. The service is friendly and helpful, particularly the lovely lady who serves in the morning. The breakfast has plenty of options including some cook to order items. Right in the centre of town so easy to access other dining options if you are staying for a few days, however the burger was so good I went back twice in my stay. Close to the station so easy for transport links. Overall a good basic option that provides what you need with a smile.

Reviewed By Hygge-OleDefinitely not recommended. Tiny, smelly and dirty rooms, very thin walls, worn carpets, wobbly beds and furniture, lamps were naked lightbulbs. Upon arrival we briefly contemplated having a bite in their restaurant, but quickly changed our minds when a door was opened and one of their kitchen staff stormed out and threw up ...! We'll stay well clear of this place in the future.
