The walking paths surrounding The Bear Lake and the other lakes, like The Red and the The Green Lake are wonderful! You could spend at least 2-3 hours, exploring the area, climbing the little hills, playing and admiring the nature. There are wooden benches and even a playground for children.

Salina Praid - Salt Mine

Reviewed By Alexandru D - Ploiesti, Romania

We visited the salt mine one week ago: a family with two kids. The saline is very small in comparison with other salt mine visited, i.e. Slanic Prahova Salt mine which is at least double in length and capacity. The salt mine has around 3 large rooms which are fool of a lot of things which should not be there. Due to this fact it is very crowded and commercial oriented, i.e. only oriented to make money. The price is excessive for what is offered: 30 lei for adult and 20 lei for a child. We paid 100 lei for about one hour visit so the price is excessive and I do not recommend the visit unless you have some respiratory disease and in this case it is good for your health.
Another point to consider: the visit start with a buss trip for about 1 km inside the mine, after which you need to descend hundreds of stairs to enter the mine. Lowering the steps for about 10-15 minutes is difficult for old people or people with knee problems. People with disabilities can not enter the mine since there is no specific access for such persons (i.e. other similar Salt mines has elevators which ease the access).

Liliac Winery

I went there with a group in September and loved the location, the wines and the food. Since it was the birthday of one of the group members, we asked them to prepare a cake, they did and it was a wonderful surprise.
The person hosting us was a bit too technical on presenting the wines, she should focus more on the group's expectations and stories around wine.
I was there in March as well for a trial wine tasting (pictures are from March).

It can be more attractive.
Maybe with the little kids but when I reserved a place for us I thought it goes through the towns and I can see more of Vaser, Viseu de Sus Maramures. But it goes one direction and comes from the same so it can be boring.
Do not go on July. It is very full.

Parc Aventura Sovata

We were there two adults and two children (12 YO both). We tried to attend in an afternoon and the organizers decline the possibility to start the route because only one and a half hour remains until closing of the park and not enough time for training...the next day preparing training was for five-ten minutes ;(
Finally we started the route (next day morning)...big surprise there no gloves for attraction.
There are four routes: two for children and two for adults. The routes for children were not proper...only for small children ...in my opinion for less then 1,4m tall. Our children started first route then after they finished somehow they abandoned.
The route for adults are nice with two flying fox attraction on top of a lake... very nice. But the finish of the route was with an other flying fox attraction where you will land on the earth...no security and possible injuries there...be careful.
Overall nice (average) adventure park but: gloves compulsory to offer for participants, need to increase security, not for children more then 8-9 years old !

Butterfly House Praid

Using the experiences lived with the periodic butterfly house from Odorheiu Secuiesc, we opened the first permanent butterfly house in Romania, at Praid, Harghita County, on the spring of 2012. The building, created for this very purpose, is divided into two parts and is house to a reception area that communicates with a gift shop and to a so called "flying space" with a tropical microclimate that
