Took a private 2-hour jeepride booked through Bereisheet Hôtel . The sheer beauty and majesty as the Makhtesh was awesome. The history and geologic insights into the formation of the Makhtesh was fascinating, and the rugged ride was thrilling.

I have visited this site a number of times, but I have never written about it for Trip Advisor. It is a very impressive site, although it is best to visit with a guide. This time an archaeologist led the tour and she has been excavating at Avdat and other sites in the Negev for 20 years. The tour was absolutely fascinating. But, even without an excellent guide, it is definitely worth a visit, just to wander about, and visit the sites on top. The view over the entire area is breathtaking. This time I visited in winter and it was very cold and windy, but usually it is scorchingly hot in summer and spring and fall.

This is about the deep desert oasis hike that is below the Nabatean city ruins. It's in a deep valley and there is flat walking through lush shrubbery to the oases. It's quiet and peaceful and idyllic... until the tour group busses arrive.

I have the pattion for stars and this visitor center was very interesting for me. The place and the movie are very touching, I was crying at the end. Don't miss the meridiana on the rooftop.

כאשר מגיעים מכיוון מצפה רמון, חוצים את המכתש כמעט לכל אורכו ולפני ( 500 מטר) העיקול לעלייה שמאלה (היציאה מהמכתש) חוצים את נחל פארן. ממש שם ישנו שלט המורה ימינה לנחל פארן. על האדמה מונחת אבן המורה שמאלה עם סימון שבילים אדום. נוסעים בדרך טובה כ 4 ק"מ ופוגשים מצד שמאל את המצוק האדמדם שמחביא את קניון עדה. כאשר המצוק שובר שמאלה זה המקום לפנות שמאלה ולראות במרחק שלט קטן וקבוצת עצים. הפנייה שמאלה לא מסומנת אך ברורה מספיק. בירידה מכביש הערבה תאפסו את הק"מ ובערך אחרי 4.1-4.2 היא שם.
הכניסה לקניון עדה לא מבשרת על הבאות, ההליכה בין סלעים נמשכת עד 5 דקות ומיד נכנסים לערוץ הקניון שצבעו אדום יפה ורוחבו בין מטר ל 50 ס"מ. נפגשים עם סולם שגובהו 4 מטרים ולאחר מכן עם קיר שבו מדרגות מסותתות ועוד סולם קטן יותר. לאחר מכן עלייה באמצעות חבל קצר, וזהו. נגמר הקניון. עלייה חשופה לשמש של פחות מ 10 דקות ואתם משקיפים על ערוץ נחל פארן. מכאן המסלול המעגלי חשוף לשמש. אנחנו בחרנו לחזור בדרך בא הגענו והכל לקח לנו שעה ו 10 דקות. ילדים מ 2.5 עד 11 עשו בלי בעיה את המסלול.
מומלץ מאוד, חלקים בקניון עצמו, מפותלים וצרים וזה כייף גדול ללכת שם.
