Miners' Memorial Park

Being from Southeastern Ohio wanted to take grandchildren to see the bucket from the Big Muskie dragline (world's largest dragline). This park has areas to have a picnic and just enjoy the outdoors while reading the history of the area and mining.

We visited on a Friday morning, and the place was busy with locals and traveling genealogy researchers alike. The Society has an extensive collection, much of accessible by computer search. The volunteers there were incredibly friendly and helpful. The collection of local obituaries was especially valuable to me in my research of family members who lived in the area in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
