We did! My wife and our dog...it is 28 km walk around the lake.
We started in Pertisau and did the circle. The village itself is nice and quiet. Than you have walk for ca 7 km ups and downs with lovely view on lake and surroundings. There are some huts on the way, but don't expect anything special. But we want to enjoy the nature!
Many attractions around - cycling, kitesurfing, yachting, running, train for kids. Really lovely day.
Take good shoes and water with you and have a great day!

Easy bus ride from Pertisau. Really quick cable car. About three restaurants at top. Some easyish walks (husband did one) while I soaked up sun on one of the restaurants (shamefully can't remember name!). A rather lovely place with great views of lake Achensee. There is also the mad looking air Rofan whereby people are strapped in to an overhead thing and whizzed from a peak to where the cable car is. Look it up, can't review as didn't do it.

Please buy an Active Card @ about 60 euros which covers you for the boat, see and cable cars for seven days, and you will have a ball!!

Went up in the cable car which was an exhilerating experience allowing great views of the area including my daughter's home.Lots of walks to be done and we decided to take the track back down to Maurach. First long walk I had done in ages and thoroughly enjoyed it including the coffee stop at an alm on the way down. Cost of the trip is reasonable and lots of parking if you drive to the station and a safe passage under the main road for the walk back to the town centre

As this museum is just across the road from my daughter's house, I am ashamed to admit that in three visits to Maurach, I have never been before. Several buildings with a wide range of exhibits, doll collection, tractors, engineering tools, domestic items, fire brigade and police displays just to mention a few. Run by volunteers, it looks as if a lot of hard work has gone into renovation and maintenance. Entry price was very reasonable, toilet on site and lots of parking. Even with no German, it was easy to get a feel for what was being presented.

Es war einfach genial! Wir sind vom Karwendelgebierge gestartet und über das Karwendelgebierge, den Ort Pertisau sowie den Achensee geflogen. Ursprünglich geplant war der Flug ab dem Rofangebierge. Dies war aufgrund dem stärkeren Wind dort oben nicht möglich- der Flugbegleiter achtet super auf die Wetterverhältnisse und geht keine Risikos ein! Bin begeistert, da fing das Vertrauen zum Flugbegleiter bereits an. Der Flugbegleiter hat zu Beginn alles genau erklärt sodass man sich sicher fühlt. Auch während dem Flug brauchte man keine Bedenken zu haben, der Flugbegleiter war sehr nett und herzlich mit netten Gesprächen in der Luft.
Das feeling beim Flug lässt sich gar nicht in Worte fassen.
Fly Achensee kann ich nur empfehlen.
