The castle is historically significant to Hungarians, bur even if unfamiliar with this history it provides an enjoyable and managable visit that can be combined with the tour of this lovely city for those who like medieval structures. The shopping is also quite good in this city, the little folklore shop immediately outside of the castle gate toward downtown is a great place to find handpainted items by an artist who paints for The famous Herend porcelaine factory.
The castle district also has beautiful medieval houses, churches and good restaurants.

The place looks to be beautiful (seeing the photos on the WEB I decided to visit it once). But the photo on TRIPADVISOR is taken from the Museum in Budapest -which may exhibit some relics from thsi place, but may mislead most of visitors.

Only one hour by car from Vienna so easy to visit for a few hours, even when its cold (0) outside there is a good selection of slides and pools to visit. Can be a bit busy but you only queue a few minutes for the main slides. Not the cheapest (around 25 Euro for an adult) but kids love it and we will definately come again.

Although this castle has been extensively restored its retains the feel of an old fortress.
There is a lot to see and the views over the Burgenland countryside are excellent.
It has a good cafe/restaurant and part of the castle is a hotel.
Worth a visit.

Situated in Koszeg's main townsquare, you can't miss this pretty church which serves as the town's main feature. It was open when we visited and were able to view its beautiful interior. Definitely worth taking a little stroll to, even if you admire it from one of the benches in the square.
