I have never camped here but visit a lot. We kayak or take the non-motorized boat and fish. I also like to hike around the lake, the trails are very nice. My granddaughter enjoys the beach. They also have disc golf. It's beautiful in the fall.

Escape Rooms Portland Michigan

Escape Rooms Portland Michigan is a type of intellectual adventure game in which people are placed in a uniquely themed room with other participants and have to use several elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room or complete the mission within a set time limit of 60 minutes.

My family went to the escape rooms for my birthday. As you sign up for their rooms, they ask if there is anything to make the staff aware of, and I explained that two family members have medical issues that they might want to know about; less than 10 minutes later, they responded and made it a private game due to the issues. They also said they would accommodate as best they can. We arrived and they accommodated very well! They had full lights on and even put in 2 extra chairs (which came in handy). This place is wonderful and actually read the staff information. Unfortunately, my family and I didn't escape in time, but had a great time! I can't wait to go back and try their new room!

Stopped at Pierson Orchards with my wife while out driving and looking at Fall colors. Past it and turned around and went back. They had a wonderful selection of pumpkins, gourds, etc. They also have a bakery. Bought some Cider and when we got home tried it. It is very good.

Historic Downtown Main Street

Great old main street USA with a good assortment of interesting shops with a couple of good restaurants (Lamplight Grill and Bluewater Cafe). The courthouse, armory, churches and the mostly original storefronts make this a real time capsule and at Christmas the tree literally in the middle of main street is really great. Worth a ride out for lunch or dinner!

Bertha Brock Park

Reviewed By Dave B - Grand Rapids, Michigan

Bertha Brock Park, a couple of miles west of Ionia on M-21, is a beautiful park maintained by Ionia County. The park has hundreds of acres of woods with roadways and trails throughout. There is camping in the summer, a lodge, several playgrounds, a sledding hill, ball fields, and lots of picnic spots, including a couple of gazebos. There is a small entrance fee ($2) that is taken on the honor system at the entrance. An on-site manager is there for any questions. Bellamy Creek runs through the park and has several stone bridges that cross the creek. Every single time I visit I find something new. Beautiful. Restrooms are available, including one set with running water.
