Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar

The service is very personal and homey. The drinks are amazing. The Coconut Smash (not sure that is how it is spelled) was the the best on the island. If you are going to Green Turtle Cay, you must stop by. It is not fancy but it is a very cool place to go.

Island Adventures with Lincoln Jones

Reviewed By Douglas F - Boston, Massachusetts

Lincoln is apparently a bit of a legend in GTC, and understandably so.
We had a spectacular day with Lincoln and his son David. We started off with a couple of hours of fishing. Nothing terribly difficult - just your basic line over the side and let's see what hits. Lincoln knows the hot spots and our family of four must have hauled in about 15 to 20 fish - groupers, trigger fish and others, all of which were quite colorful.
After fishing for our lunch, we had our lunch. Lincoln and David pulled into an amazingly pristine cove, complete with stingrays, turtles and various non-homocidal sharks. They started a fire and got to work on frying fish fillets, potatoes, and lobster. All treated in a custom batter.
Superb. Superb. Superb. The fish, the batter and the cooking are fresher and with more touch than the famous Fish Fry restaurants in Nassau.
Lincoln is a man of few words. There isn't much he has seen or done before. Get to know him but rely on his son's, Marcus and David for active guidance.

Albert Lowe Museum

Museum displaying photos from the periods of economic hardship on the island, as well as antique artifacts, model ships and contemporary artwork.

You can learn a lot in this little museum about the history, art and maritime culture of GTC. The curators are very helpful and knowledgeable and will answer all your questions about the exhibits and the museum itself which is housed in an interesting Victorian period home. I met Alton Lowe on my last visit who was extremely helpful in providing family background information of the early pioneer families. Mr. Lowe is also one of the best known painters in the Bahamas and five of his paintings are on exhibit in the museum. The museum is really a must see if you are in New Plymouth. It is well worth the nominal price of admission.
