This lake is huge! Big enough to do anything you want. Three rivers come together here. There are barges in the main channel; canoes and houseboats in the bays; sailboats; jet-skis; pontoons; para-sailing; yachts; Jon boats; ski boats; rafts; and more. Fishing is happening everywhere. There are RV’s, pop-ups; and mini campers. What’s really great is that you can usually rent what you want to do if you don’t have one yourself. The big KY Dam is at the north end, with flood control locks. There is a canal bear it where you can go by boat through a canal to another lake - Lake Barkley. Kentucky Dam Village State Park and Kenlake State Park are both at Kentucky Lake, with Lake Barkley Lodge in the next county located Lake Barkley. There are festivals Spring, Summer and Fall, in small communities all around the lakes. Ralph's Harbor view at the Moors on KY Lake has food, alcohol, and rentals. Pattis at Grand Rivers has been rebuilt following a fire. This place is famous for their food and shops. Calvert Drive-in theater has good hot food and first-run movies. It’s a very modern, family-owned drive-in. There are antique malls, especially in Benton and Murray. There are some areas that sell alcohol or drinks. Many don’t so you may want to bring your alcohol. Metropolis, Illinois has a casino. It’s about an hour away, west. Paducah and Murray and Cadiz are all about 30 minutes away, and connected by interstates or Parkways! State Parks have buffets for meals. Many have lodge or cabin accommodations. There are Airbnb’s all around the lakes too. Some businesses are seasonal so call first.

We are conveniently located within Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, at Mile Marker 23 on the Tennessee River, and are just a few minutes from Exit 27 on Interstate 24.

My husband and I drove to Paducah and visited the Kentucky Dam Marina and Village. This is an immaculately clean area with lots of green space and lots of things to do for people of all ages. It is a full-service marina with a boat store for all the supplies you will need for your adventure here. Restrooms, showers, laundry, pump out station, cable TV, full electric service, wireless internet, courtesy van, and a "no fee" launch ramp. Rentals available including motor, skis, sea doo's, paddle boards and houseboats. Beautiful statues grace the parking area and road. Close to the marina there are executive cottages, cabins, picnic pavilions, lots of benches, picnic shelters, playground with swings, golf course, pro shop, Harbor Lights Restaurant, convention center and meeting rooms. It was a relaxing drive around the area and we certainly will be back to spend more time and enjoy the restaurant.
