Our guide Caitilin (apologies if incorrect spelling) picked us up right on time out front of our hotel. The tour is private so we had drive around in a comfortable new BMW sedan. Caitilin pointed out and explained some landmarks of Braşov, as well as the history. The bear sanctuary is about half hour away, and is an amazing place. Local park rangers escort you through the park, with history’s of each bear you see, and explain how the park operates. Such magnificent animals and a pleasure to see them. Walk through takes about 1 hour and cost 55 lei for entry, and additional 50 for photography (free on phone). Râşnov fortress is not far away: amazing views of the mountain range behind and the flatlands in front. Be prepared for some steep waking and some jagged/rocky paths once in the fortress. Caitilin patiently waits while we did both the sanctuary and fortress. He took us back to Braşov his the nearby ski resort town, and also a lookout point just above Braşov to get good pictures. A very nice morning out and Caitilin was great.

I got picked up in the morning from my hotel which was very convenient. The time spent on the road was around 1 hour or so, parked the car and immediately started climbing. It was difficult at first. I was lucky to be travelling alone. I know most of my friends are not hiking lovers. The rather steep climb ended rapidly, and I felt I could breathe again. Now that I think about it, it wasn’t that steep anyway! There were other tourists on the path so I think that this is a popular trail. Soon enough we reached the Curmatura Cabin. Ramona was very nice and explained everything I wanted to know. Honestly, I don’t know how she could talk and hike at the same time! But I think she’s been born and raised in the woods so that explains a lot :)) The food from the cabin was tasty, specially the homemade pies! You don’t want to miss that. They also had a huge dog and a big, orange cat, which were both very calm and friendly and demanded that we fed them. On the way back, we passed through a Canyon, I believe it was the Zarnesti Canyon. A place where nature was indeed extremely generous and created a timeless beauty. All in all, the hike was very pleasant and I can’t wait to be able to travel again! A big hello to you Ramona and keep up the good work, I love what you do and how you bring the beauty closer to people’s lives.

It was our first time in Brașov, also our first time with a tour guide. We had a great day with Florin, he was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Brașov and its history. We enjoyed our tour thoroughly and, although we weren't so vocal, he managed to mix history, local knowledge and personal stories to keep us entertained and engaged. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Brașov.

The entire experience far exceeded our expectations. Claudiu went above and beyond to ensure that our entire day was eventful. With only two days notice he was able to fulfill our entire request and did so with such an amazing personal touch. We did not just gain knowledge of the sites we visited but also about the culture, people, and food of Romania. We now know exactly what to order as we continue our travels! Not only did Claudiu do an amazing job making sure that we had adequate and well informed guides, but he provided a driver that made us feel so safe. We look forward to returning to Romania in the future to learn even more from Claudiu, but until then we use all the tips he provided us with to ensure the next few days go better than planned. We highly recommend using Claudiu as a guide and he added so much to our time in Brasov. It is hard to believe he could fit all that he did into one day. So worth every minute and the tour did not disappoint!
