Mamaia is a popular beach resort on the coast of the Romanian Black Sea. The fine white sand beaches are unusual for this part of the world, so tourists flock here during the summer months for a tropical experience that’s close to home. Crush Beach is great for people-watching and water spots. At night, the area throbs with club goers and beautiful party people.

Biserica Ortodoxa Schimbarea la Fata

Reviewed By 832sophias - Island of Hawaii, United States

I discovered by chance this little church, coming from a museum in the old centre. It is a small but nice and colourful church. It does not look too classical as it reminds me of the Greek temples but it's normal as it was originally a Greek church. It is located near the sea and the colour of the stones is very charming. I spent some time inside too and it was very pleasant as it was empty. I got invited by the person working inside at the special New Year's Eve service :).

Great Synagogue

Reviewed By Vladimiramirela - Mississauga, Canada

At the end of a street in the old area of Constanta, the former Ashkenazi synagogue stands in ruins. The walls are the only remaining testimony of the beauty of the Jewish community's heritage in this area. The roof and part of the interior walls had collapsed, and the structure of the building is damaged. Even in its current stage, the remains of this building stand proof of its past greatness and it is still worth paying a visit.
