Fantastic Stay
Reviewed By OCS77I cannot rate the Malat Hotel in the vineyards high enough. had two fantastic nights in the hotel and loved the views of the vineyards and the Stift Göttweig. Alexis gave us a very warm welcome and was very helpful giving us guidance on what to do in the region. I personally found my new personal favourite summer wine in the Rose Furth :-) The breakfast definitely is nice and - for Austrian standards - outstanding.

Everything was wonderful
Reviewed By Banica-AdrianIt was the best dinner we ever had!!! In the menu we had the option to take a surprise meal in each the cook had the liberty to choose up to 7 plates. Everything the cook gave my wife was absolutely delicious. The room was big and clean and with an amazing view! Me and my wife wish we could have stayed longer! The photo attached is from our balcony.

Above Average Breakfast but Need Mobile Phone for Check-in
Reviewed By DaveBritishColumbiaWe stayed at Gastehaus Hofbauer for one night in May 2016. When we arrived there was a sign on the door with a phone number to call for check in. As we did not have a mobile phone we walked down the street where we found a family run winery / restaurant. After a great meal we had the server phone Gastehaus Hofbauer for us. Within 5 minutes the proprietor arrived and checked us in. Room was clean and comfortable although there was noise from the road. Breakfast was above average as in addition to the standard fare of cheese, meat and bread they included eggs cooked to your choice and homemade desserts.

Efficient Personal Service
Reviewed By Tony AThe hotel is on the edge of the village and looks a little 'utilitarian', in spite of the fact that the basis of the hotel is a very old building. When we went in to register, the person who greeted us was friendly and efficient and gave use the information we needed. The room was spacious and on the first floor some of the rooms open straight out into the garden which is sunny and has plenty of places to sit. This was a real bonus. The room lacks some small things like a facility to make tea/coffee but the bar/restaurant is usually open. On the other hand it is clean and comfortable and there is a table and a desk and a small sofa- The windows are large and the room is light (room 19). Breakfast is comprehensive and well served...good food and plentiful variety. We had a couple of meals there and the food is fairly standard but freshly prepared and well served. No complaints! The hotel has been modernised and the deco is a bit plain but functional. We had a good stay....and it is convenient for walks and cycle ways.

URLAUB IM KLOSTER – NEUE GÄSTEZIMMER IN HISTORISCHEN MAUERN Seit Juli 2020 stehen neben 26 einfachen, klösterlichen zusätzlich 10 neu eingerichtete Zimmer für Ihren Aufenthalt zur Verfügung. Die Räumlichkeiten im Westen der Stiftsanlage wurden um 9 Doppel- und 1 Zweibettzimmer erweitert, 2 dieser Zimmer sind barrierefrei. Die modernen, hellen, freundlich ausgestatteten Zimmer vermitteln den Gästen aber auch die Geschichte und Tradition des Stiftes. Der Ausblick der Zimmer wartet teilweise auf die klösterlichen Bauteile vergangener Tage auf. In einigen Zimmern genießt man den traumhaften Panoramablick auf die umliegenden Dörfer der UNESCO-Welterberegion Wachau. Das einfache Frühstück mit regionalen Produkten wie Honig aus dem Dunkelsteinerwald, Marillenmarmelade von den eigenen Marillenbäumen, bis zum Gebäck von der Bäckerei Schmidl aus Dürnstein erwartet die Gäste am Morgen im Stiftsrestaurant, bei Schönwetter auch auf der Panoramaterrasse.
