Driftwood Estate Winery sits in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country on a bluff overlooking the vineyards below. Come enjoy a bottle of our award winning Texas wine! The Driftwood Estate Winery staff invites you to take a scenic Hill Country drive to the winery and try our award winning wines. The view from the bluff is spectacular, and the grounds are perfect for a picnic with your favorite glass or bottle of Driftwood Estate wine. We are open every day from 11am till 6pm for tastings and wine sales. We are closed for Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. We close to the public four times a year for our quarterly Gold and Silver Spur Wine Club Parties. Always check our website or Facebook page to see if we have extended hours. Taste any 6 wines listed on our tasting sheet for $12. The tasting fee includes a large Driftwood logo souvenir wine glass. Gold and Silver Spur Wine Club Members currently receive 4 complimentary wine tastings per membership every visit during regular business hours. Complimentary tastings do not include a wine glass. Active duty military receive a free tasting and 10% discount on all wine purchases. We thank you for your service. For groups, please contact us ahead of time to see if an advanced booking is needed. They all have a beautiful view of the hill country and vineyard below. The Duchman Family Winery was founded in 2004 by Drs. Lisa and Stan Duchman in a quest to bring world-class winemaking to Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country. Their love of the unique Italian grape varieties as well as similar weather patterns to Texas inspired them to work with viticultural consultant Bobby Cox and growers in the Texas High Planes AVA to produce grapes that would allow their winemakers, Dave Reilly and Mark Penna, to experiment with making wines like Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto.The winery continues to source the majority of its fruit from the Texas High Plains AVA, where cooler temperatures and a more “continental” climate are ideal for the production of fine wine made from Italian grape varieties. As the winery grows, the Duchmans remain committed to their goal to produce food-friendly fine wine in Central Texas using Texas-grown fruit exclusively. With an eye on the future, Duchman Family Winery continues to develop innovative winemaking and grape growing techniques in order to provide wine that truly reflects a taste of Texas for years to come.Duchman Family Winery remains one of the top wine destinations in Texas. All of the winery’s current releases can be sampled and purchased at the winery’s tasting room and the estate’s beautiful Italianate villa and grounds are open to visitors who can enjoy their wines with a picnic lunch! We have picnic tables outdoors in the shade of the oaks, or pick a cozy spot inside the winery hallway with a windowed view into the barrel room, fermentation tank, or production area for bottling and labeling of our wines.
