Highly recommend this tour to allow you to see some of the most interesting sights whilst also accomplishing the need to travel between the two cities. My personal favourite was the hill of crosses just because it is so unusual, but Rundale Palace is also a star stop. Laura was an excellent guide, bubbling with enthusiasm and highly enthusiastic!

The trip with Andreas was very good. He was incredibly friendly and graceful and provided excellent guidance in a very difficult part of Lithuanian (human) history. Well worth it.

3. Private Grutas Park Tour: The Park of Soviet Sculptures from Vilnius

Vilnius City Tour

Discover a remarkable collection of Soviet-era sculptures on a 6-hour private tour of Grutas Park. As the Lithuanian independence movement toppled Soviet statues across the country, many were transported to this 50-acre (20-hectare) garden, also known as ‘Stalin’s World.’ Walk between the park’s poignant ‘spheres,’ whose themes include totalitarianism, occupation, terror and death, and learn the painful history of the Lithuanian SSR.

Inclusions: Driver/guide, Transport by air-conditioned minivan for 3+ pax, Transport by car for 1-2 pax, Hotel pick-up and drop-off from centrally located hotels in Vilnius

Exclusions: Food and drinks, unless specified, Gratuities

I was lucky to be the only person taking this trip on that day. My Guide Jurata was very friendly, and insightful. We spent time at the Kaunas Rumsiskes, where we visited various old Lithuanian settlements. We also toured the Pazaislis monastry as well as Kaunas Old town and castle. She took time to present the cultural and historical background behind the settlements. That did help in appreciating Lithuanian history as well as Lithuanian society historically and in contemporary times. Personally, it was one of the most insightful tour I have ever experienced. For me it was an amazing experience.
