Tungamah War Memorial

This is a moving tribute to those from the area who served in various wars. It also contains information panels which provide interesting background to the memorial and to the war history of the town. Take the time to stop, read the panels and consider what the monument means.

Tungamah Silo Art

In February 2018, Sobrane Simcock became the first female to paint a silo in Australia. She painted dancing bolgas on the concrete silos - there are 3 so make sure you see the brolga on the back of the silo. In 2019, Sobrane added more birds, flora and colour to the steel silo. This now has a Kookaburra (the original) plus a Galah, a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, a Sacred Kingfisher, a Straw Necked Ibis and 2 Blue Wrens all nestled in gum tree foliage and Gum Flowers and the native Billy Button leaves and flowers. North Vic Trails is a Non Profit Community Group consisting of people from small towns. We are trying to help our rural regional towns suffering in the current climate especially after the drought and bushfires and now COVID 19 restrictions. Through promoting the silo art, other artworks and features for small town communities we hope to increase tourism to the northern regions of Victoria. So come visit us, stay for a bit and enjoy the many fabulous sights we have to offer.

Tungamah Lions Park

Excellent spot that you’ll spot to your right has you enter town over the bridge. Located on Boosey Creek the area is a popular bird watching area. The lions club offers 7 days free camping with good facilities. Has a small playground with a real life tractor that my son loved. The town itself is worth a walk around with many historic buildings .
