Barnacles Dolphin Centre

A memorable experience feeding ridgeback dolphins in the wild. Usually around half a dozen dolphins start to arrive after 7am, and feeding starts at 8.Choose whether you prefer to feed or just watch. Recommended that you arrive by 7am as numbers are restricted. If you opt to feed a dolphin, when it’s your turn you wade knee deep into the water for a few minutes and offer a small fish which the dolphin will take gently from your fingers. Great fun to watch everyone taking part. Café on site is great for breakfast or a cuppa while you wait. The Barnacles staff are knowledgeable and the dolphins’ welfare is at the forefront.

Dolphin Ferry Cruises

We went with a group of friends and had a lovely time. The captain gave an informative commentary on points of interest and was very receptive to being asked questions. You can bring along food and drink making for a relaxed and sharing experience.
The ride gives you a different and lovely view of the bay.

Tin Can Bay Boat Hire

once again the staff were helpful giving me all the safety information and a quick rundown on how to use the boat. I have a boat licence so chose the mid range tinny this time as it was just the 2 of us, this time i towed the boat myself as i now have a better car. it was a bit colder this time of year but it was a great day on the water after it warmed up a bit. a few flat head on lures and some whiting off the sand banks in the channels.. we also touched down on fraser island for lunch...

I have been here a few times to meet up with friends or family (not by my choice) The wait time for food is just so slow and it never seems to improve. I find the coffees to be far too milky in taste, a contributing factor is because the milk is taken to a temperature far too high. They do provide a little mint chocolate which is a nice gesture in this day and age. The menu has a lot of deep fried items on it which is not really to my liking. The cafe itself feels cluttered with lots of artwork and arts/crafts items available for sale.

Tin Can Bay Photography Tours & Outdoor Workshops

My photography tours/workshops are both inspirational and educational as they can take in the local natural assets of Tin Can Bay as well as offer assistance with camera skills resulting in improved outdoor nature images.
