Museo Nacional del Virreinato

One of the best museums I've visited lately, a hidden jewel of Spaniard / Mestizo colonial art, superb exhibits and more. The best part are those baroque altarpieces inside, worth for a 1000 pictures and incredible detailed. They also include a couple of exhibits including Oriental Art (mostly Japanese and Chinese). Recommended for history buffs and art lovers. Tepotzotlan is a great please to visit during weekends in you leave in Mexico State or Mexico City. Entry ticket is a little expensive (~100 Mexican Pesos per person, by aware), and would recommend to visit if you have a car because Uber will be expensive and you may face traffic jams in the highway.

Arcos del Sitio

It is just an hour drive on a slow road past Tepozotlan and well worth the trip. Entry cost is $35 MN per person plus $15 MN to park. You can walk over the acqueduct and it is amazing to see the world’s tallest acqueduct. Started in 1705 by the Jesuits and finished by the Spaniards after they were thrown out. Good infrastrudture – bathrooms, food area (and you pass the classic places to eat in Tepozotlan which we chose), horses, zip line, pool Great time and nice bit of history. Great place to fly a kite or play football surrounded by history

Temple San Francisco Javier

Recommended to visit after you finish your journey inside Tepotzotlan's Vice-royalty Musem. This temple has another "above-exquisite" baroque altarpiece worth of more pictures (if it wasn't enough... all those inside the museum hehehe...) Don't spend more than 1 hour, so you can go to city's main square and enjoy some of the local food delicacies. Foreign Visitors: Please be respectful, 99% of people which visit this place and locals are catholic and very religious, if possible leave some money as gratuity for the temple's use.

The best place for hiking in Tepotzotlan Area, far from its main urban center and recommended for nature lovers and hitchhikers! Bring enough and comfortable sports clothing, and some goods (fruits, water, etc) because you wont find any 711 stores around here! You need to spend at least 2-3 hours 'til reach the top they call "The Pyramid Summit"... Great views of all the valley, totally worth for pictures; best seasons to visit are between Feb-Mar (before Spring) and after Summer (Sep-Nov).
