We were coming up for the 2017 Eclipse from Utah. We had no reservations and what was out there was crazy expensive. We decided to wing it and found the Wind River Casino. The Casino is just out of town but offers bus service that goes back and forth from town very regular. The Casino has a Cafe and Restaurant that is available 24/7. The prices were average with several options; no sticker shock. The staff are super friendly and answer your questions. The shop is nice and has some souvenirs to choose from including Native Arapahoe items to purchase. The Casino offers smoke free Gambling area. NOTE: Casino is Alcohol free. We stopped due to the RV's we saw in an open field and needed a place to camp. The awesome news which was unbelievable but true was they were allowing you to stay FREE in the field. The Casino offered porter potties and trash cans and you could set up and stay for Free. During our stay the Arapahoe had a Ceremony in the field to dedicate Veterans in the Military. They welcomed all to join in the dancing, food and celebration. I wanted to say Thank you for this as it really made the trip affordable and we sincerely appreciated the accommodations and kindness of the Arapahoe Nation.

Castle Gardens Petroglyph Site

Castle Gardens is like a miniature Canyonlands. There are some beautiful formations, but it is a long drive on a not developed dirt washboard road to get there. There are no bathroom facilities either, nothing around for miles. There are some neat Indian hieroglyphics behind a fence on the formations. We got some nice pictures there. Bring water and expect your vehicle to get really dusty. It is free.
