This is how a "ZOO" should be. Most of the animals have large areas to roam 'free'. So if you want to get close to wild and exotic animals, and not traveling the globe, this is the best solution. Especially for the animals involved, as they have a much better life here, than in small concrete cages that is the norm in normal ZOO's.
They also have a relative new play land with lot's of good entertainment and rides for the children. This is a definite winner.

A majestic Cathedral in a small, almost deserted town, going back to the Sta. Birgitta monastery days, surrounded by a park, lake and an old grave yard. Too bad the church was closed. There were some ruins close by , probably connected to the monastery. Peaceful place, good experience.

Homes & outbuildings of mostly 19th Century rural Denmark sprawling over a beautiful patch of land. Very clearly signposted in Danish & English. Signposting introduced the occupants of each house, & gave an inventory of their livestock which personalised it & helped us to understand the history (my 12 yr old daughter was very keen on this).

Dit kerkje uit 1500 is een must see als je op Femø komt. Slechts 10 minuten lopen van de haven. Een idyllische plek op een heuvel. Prachtig gerestaureerd en onderhouden. Altijd geopend!

Our trip to Denmark let us to Engestofte and we will never forget it. The nature was spectacular and the estate so beautiful. We held our anniversary at Engestofte and will cherish the memories forever! I can recommend this place to all. Also a fun area for families with kids.
