The fort is impressive! Watch out for the bee hive in the roof of the rebuilt chapel. The views from the fort are great, you can certainly understand why it was built in this location. The grounds of the park are great. Lots of rental cabins and camp sites and the playa grande is a great long beach. The park is free to enter, there is a 30 peso fee to enter the fort.

Fuerte de San Miguel

An extremely well reconstructed fortress with fantastic views over the flatlands of Southern Brazil. The exhibits are well thought out and add interest to the visit. If you are looking for a decent meal or to stay for a few nights it is well worth considering the nearby Fortin de San Miguel. It is a bit basic, but there is no other hosteria like it in Uruguay.
