Christ Rei Chapel

Reviewed By David D - Devon, United Kingdom

Sunday 26th November and it is the main festival of this Chapel,  the festival of Christ the King , Christ Rei. It all started about 7.00am with a religious service and continued throughout the day and into the evening.
Later on in the morning there were further religious events with a procession along the road accompanied with a band. The music did boom out.
There were some stalls in the grounds of the Chapel selling sweets and other items and toys.
A stage was erected in the grounds for a play, drama/entertainment to take place later on in the evening.
The Chapel was decked in lights with a canopy erected to provide shade fromantic the Goan Sunshine
A delightful spectacle.

Mandi

Mandi meaning ‘market place’ in hindi, taps the export markets and potential of Indian handicrafts, by making the crafted product export worthy, sourced from across India, whilst focusing on the handicraft quality and design, vis a vis subtle preferences unique to individual global market spaces. At www.mandistore.com, we retail apparels, accessories, art, furnishings, fabrics and other lifestyle products that are handcrafted and unique. Mandi especially focuses on the handicraft quality and design, with the help of our design intervention team and quality audits, while sourcing a majority of its products under common categories, from little known crafts in India. Rural artisan empowerment is what we ultimately strive for - where the artisan gains an understanding of the global marketplace, and retails independently, at par with the global craft community.

Mandi has a superb collection of all things Indian! Unique in their product range, variety from across India, displays are quirky, different, colourful!
I think they are spot on with their pricing for the superb quality they present. I was amazed at the fabrics they have, even one out of banana?! I want a shirt with that one. I have picked up stuff to send to the relatives in France and they were thrilled.
I was lucky enough to attend their West Bengal week where the artisans, musicians they got from there were truly spectacular. The local art in India is just waiting to be explored and Mandi for sure has a lot on dispaly.
I loved the location! Inside Jasminn Hotel, which looks inviting and am sure to think of staying there next time.
Boutique Hotel, Amazing fares' at Mandi, local cuisine all around..... Goa at its best!!
