The Netherlands are blessed with endless wide sandy Beaches and lots of villages-on-the-beach. Bergen-aan-Zee is one of the friendliest, unassuming but lovely parts. Because the beach is so wide and stretches literally along the coast from north to south, you can always find some space and it never gets to crowded. Shallow waters, watched over by lifeguards. Great day out, couple of lovely restaurants and coffee places nearby.

We visited in the middle of July and it was busy but still enjoyable. My mother and teenage daughter both enjoyed the visit. It is very small and we were there for less than an hour. Some interesting items in the shop.
