Guadirikiri Caves

Who would have thought that these two caves, renowned in folklore as the site where two lovers burst through rock and into heaven, would be so dark, damp, gritty and full of bats?

One of the parks other highlights include the Quadirikiri Cavern where you walk through two large chambers (minding the occasional flying bat) to an opening in the cavern ceiling allowing light in.

Natural Bridge

Aruba's Natural Bridge collapsed on September 2, 2005. Aruba's stunning geological formation where years of erosion from the sea has carved its way through coral rock forming a 100 foot bridge, 25 feet over the sea, which is the largest of its kind in the Caribbean. Next to the collapsed bridge is now the Baby Natural Bridge which offers great photo opportunities. The site also offers a bar, restrooms and shopping. The area is beautiful for walking or cycling.

We were lucky to be here on a day where there were brisk winds, causing a great surf. The new natural bridge was easily visible as were the remains of the prior one. It’s a great stop to see nature at its finest.

Stonehenge of Aruba

Ayó, northeast of Hooiberg, has been called the Stonehenge of Aruba, where rare burrowing owls have dug under giant boulders, whose origins have long puzzled geologists.
