Punta Campanella

We are a group of fifty-somethings, most of whom are in reasonably good shape, and this was a great hike that provided a physical challenge but was more than do-able even for people who aren't all that fit. Parts of it are steep and uneven but much of it is relatively flat and wide and there are many places to stop and catch your breath or take a photo. It is all downhill for the first hour, and that gets you to the ancient Roman fort at the tip of the peninsula. You can either turn around and go back or you can take the even more challenging uphill route, which runs along the very top of the cliffs. We chose to turn back and we had a great two-hour hike that really got our heart rates up.
