5 Things to do Adventurous in Isola d'Ischia That You Shouldn't Miss

January 24, 2022 Deane Carmody

The largest and many say most beautiful island in the Bay of Naples, Ischia is renowned for its curative spas. Ferries and hydrofoils connect Naples to Ischia Porto, the main town. Nearby at Ischia Ponte (connected to the main island by a foot bridge) are the magnificent Castello Aragonese and Guevara Tower. Forio on the island’s west coast, Lacco Ameno in the northwest and Sant’Angelo in the south are the liveliest resort towns. Casamicciola Terme in the north is one of Europe’s oldest spas.

Only Green

I had the best experience with Only Green and would definitely use them again. I was referred to their company by my hotel and am I am so grateful for the experience. They rented me a super comfortable, quality electric bike that took me all over the island. The location is very central and easy to pick up from / return to. They were also extremely flexible allowing me to extend and communicate through WhatsApp. Prices were also amazing. I would highly recommend them !!

Monte Epomeo

It seems like most take the bus and then walk a couple of kilometers up to the top, firstly by a small road and the last bit by the trail. We took the long hike from Casamicciola and the shorter hike but still by trail back to the same starting point, giving us a nice daytrip of just under 6 hours, and also 13 kilometers of hiking through stunning scenery with spectacular views. The Restaurant on the top is a good place with an awesome view and a good break for coffee and something to eat. We took it kind of slow going up since we had a first time hiker with us.

Baia di Sorgeto

Reviewed By Beach_Addicts - Grand Cayman, Caribbean

I seemed to have missed this during my first trip...but thankfully, my new friends treated me to a great evening in this little piece of heaven. Though not for the faint of heart....there are at least a few hundred steps to descend to Sorgeto Bay and in my humble opinion, well worth it. We chose the end of the workday to go (so likely less crowded than other times of day during high season). There are in fact several formed pools if you will, each feeling different in temperature. PLEASE NOTE, one of the first pools closest to shore (has signage) but is in fact boiling water. You do NOT want to step in there The rest is to be enjoyed, alternating between spots in the various sections is very invigorating! A great leisurely time in a unique, natural spa... AND IT’s 100% FREE!! There is a restaurant there if you get thirsty or hungry or need fuel for the steps back to the top!!! Go and have a wonderful, relaxing time!!!
