Spent the better part of a week with the Otteson guys (Tommy, Danny and Tristan). We learned so much about the business and these beautiful stones! These guys could't have been any more accommodating. My wife and I love to mine/rock hunt. This was our best experience ever!

Tonopah Historic Mining Park

The Tonopah Historic Mining Park is on the site of Belle and Jim Butler's original mining claim which started the rush to Tonopah making it the "Queen of the Silver Camps." The mining park, encompassing portions of four of the major mining companies and covering 113 acres, preserves this rich history and brings it to life with exhibits of equipment and imaginative self-guided tours. The park also offers a Guided Polaris Tour. The park collects, restores and displays mining artifacts on the site and in the original buildings. Come and visit us at the Tonopah Historic Mining Park, where history comes alive. We are open 7 days a week Summer Hours - 9am-5pm - Winter Hours 8am-4pm, excluding all Federal Holidays.

The town of Tonopah has a colorful history and the Mining park is definitely worth a visit. It is very much a local site but interesting with the displays and the tour of the area. Great to see the town take such pride in it's early days. The curator was friendly and helpful. Interesting local movie which I so enjoy.

I went and spent a few hours walking around during the day. A lot of graves here to see. Nothing happened during the day. I came back at 4 am to take some photos and got a bunch of orbs. I was only there for maybe 30 seconds. Next time I am going to spend some time at night here.
