Rio Don Diego

Reviewed By clioandcoffee - Toronto, Canada

Took the bus to "Don Diego" from near our resort, Ecohabs Los Naranjos, (bus: ~15 minutes, stop neat to a fruit stand, towards Palomino, $3,000 but they charged us $4,000 for being gringos I think). The tubing company is right where the bus drops you off. We got William, he was perfecto. $60,000 per person and they keep your bags for you. You can also buy a waterproof case for your phone, they'll show you where. Bring water and sunscreen. A few of us got burnt and didn't have sunscreen until we got back to our bags. Bring a few pesos for the end, there's drinks and snacks to buy. Roughly 45 minute cruise, very slow, saw a crocodile (very safe distance), lots of monkeys, beautiful birds and jumping fish at the end. Totally worth it. We bought some fruit on our way back to the bus, probably not the cheapest fruit but super amazing. Try not to fall asleep too hard on your bus ride back!

Pozo Azul

Reviewed By JenDaly2017 - London, United Kingdom

The water is fairly cold and as we were there during the Christmas holiday period it was pretty busy, but I would still highly recommend a visit to Pozo Azul. The sights on the way are beautiful and the facilities once you get there are better than we expected - there are food and drinks sellers there, and plenty of places to park your bum and have a seat if you don't want to get in the water. There are a number of ways you can get here from Minca. The easiest way is to jump on a moto-bike and have them zoom you up to the entrance, the middling route is to walk up the short way (which is all "proper" road) and the hardest way is to hike the long way round (go up the street to the side of the Police Station then follow the signs). I would recommend hiking up the long way round because it was lovely. We saw all sorts of birds and butterflies, as well as some lovely views. It's a fairly easy hike, but bits of it are steep and it was a pretty hot day, so the hike made us really appreciate the cold water once we got there! Then you can either get a moto-bike or walk back down the easy way. We chose to walk and I'm really glad we did as there are a number of little bars / coffee shops on the road that have glorious views, so we stopped at a couple and had a very pleasant stroll back down. If you have enough time to make a full day of it, then the whole experience of getting there and back is really worth taking your time over.

El Rodadero

Reviewed By billsB4023IV - Ramsey, United States

Rodadero is a beautiful beach. But it is much easier and less expensive if you know Javier Pescado Rodadero. +57 3502799292. No matter what, you need to make a reservation to go to this beach. Overall it is very busy. However, we met Javier at the entrance. He set us up in a very private section of the beach away from other people. He provided amazing food. We had outstanding Patacones and fresh Lobster grill right there. He arranged for our boats, jet skis and everything. Although he obviously made money for his hard work he treated us like family and catered to our every need! Great person to know. Excellent food and service and service and honestly the only way you should go to this beach. I was skeptical when I first met him. But he proved me wrong.
